Soon after moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a TV and Film writer/directer, he was hired by Castle Rock Entertainment to work in the mailroom. After working his way up the production ladder, Wolfgang was then hired by Rob Reiner to be his personal assistant on the set of the film, Misery, which as an aspiring writer/director, was a huge opportunity because he got to study Reiner's directorial process and watch how he collaborated with actors, Kathy Bates and Jimmy Caan, and Director of Photography, Barry Sonnenfeld.

Wolfgang’s acting career had a Hollywood beginning when Reiner had trouble casting the role of Lance Cpl. Harold Dawson in the film, A Few Good Men. As Wolfgang was working as the location manager for the film, Reiner asked him to audition for the role because he thought he might be right for the part. After days of intense preparation and several stressful auditions, Wolfgang got a call from Reiner, during which he heard the words, “Welcome to the movie business, I’m offering you the role in A Few Good Men.”
Since then, Wolfgang has enjoyed a successful acting career working on such feature films as Little Big League, The Expert, Freeway, Goodbye America, Most Wanted, and Joe Somebody, and Ragamuffin. A few of histelevision credits include recurring roles on Nothing Sacredand Family Law, as well as guest-star appearances on hit shows such as Highlander: The Series, CSI NY, CSI Miami, NCIS, CANE, ER, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Code Black.
Wolfgang has continued to pursue his dream to become a writer and director by writing and directing the short films, Simone, Broken, Sarah's Wish, and The Long Wait, all of which have screened in major film festivals worldwide and have won several awards, including Best Short Film (Simone, The Long Wait), Best Screenplay (Broken), and Best Director (Sarah’s Wish, The Long Wait).
Wolfgang is also an acting teacher. After studying the Meisner technique at Playhouse West under the tutelage of Robert Carnegie, he was asked by Carnegie to train to become a teacher at the school. After years of teaching the technique, he was then hired to serve as Director of the school. Along with teaching a full load of classes (beginning, intermediate and advanced levels), he's also the Festival Director of the Playhouse West One Act Fest and the Playhouse West Film Festival, both of which are annual events. He keeps the students busy by constantly directing plays, most recently, Tape by Stephen Belber, Proof by David Auburn, MMF by David Kimple, and What We’re Up Against by Theresa Rebeck.
And know that when you see him smile, he's thinking about his daughter, Olivia!
